ILR Application

Post by fimirza » Mon Apr 13, 2020 12:43 pm

Hi,
I am working in the UK on a tier 2 General visa. My BRP was issued in May 2016 and was valid till May 2021.
I just changed my employer and my new BRP is valid till May 2022. I will be eligible for ILR in May 2021 and I intend to apply in May 2021.
I was looking at ILR requirements and I saw that I need to provide an absence letter from my current as well as previous employer. I wanted to know:
1) If I can get the absence letter from my previous employer today as they will have all the details of my absences or I will have to get a fresh letter from my previous employer in May 2021.
2) The absence letter should contain the details of only work related absences from the UK or it should also contain the details of personal holiday trips outside of UK as well?

My other question is about the visa of my family. The BRP (tier 2 dependent) of my family was issued with me in May 2016 and is valid till May 2021. When I changed my employer, I was issued a new BRP. I want to know if the BRP of my family is still valid till 2021 or they need to reapply and get a new BRP?

Thank you so much for the reply.

I looked at the sample letter and it says to mention about business trips abroad which were take to perform your duties.

I want to know should I mention the holiday trips I took to other parts of the works?
