I am planning to apply for Tier1 visa from the UK. I have read most of the threads here with respect to Maintenance fund but still I am left with one doubt.Would really appreciate if anyone of you can please provide answers at the earliest if possible.
The question is that I am planning to show funds held in my online Saving UK bank account. I am able to meet all the requirements as per Tier 1 but have one concern about the liquidity of the cash held in Online Saving account e.g. HSBC online Saver account, ICICI HiSave accout.
Do I need to provide any evidence with regards to instant cash requirement of the Online Saving account or would the statements be enough for this.
Although the instant fund req is not mentioned anywhere at the Homeoffice website but I noticed it in a few discussions in this forum.

Hi, when tier 1 was introduced and maintenance fund came into picture I called and asked about this. At that time when I asked if balance maintained outside UK ( in EURO) is sufficient - I was told yes, as long as it is not in a long-term fix deposit and that I have access to that fund ( i.e. via Internet banking, ATM etc..).Tier1_UK wrote:Tier1_UK wrote:Guys,

Hi sushdmehta,sushdmehta wrote:Be patient!
You probably did not get a response because no-one other than your bank can tell whether any monies you hold in savings accounts with them.
If the money is not readily accessible, then you cannot use it as maintenance funds. If only a part of that fund is readily accessible, then you need a letter from the bank to confirm the amount. But if the money is readily accessible, then bank statements are sufficient.

Hi,Hi sushdmehta,
Thanks for the response.
I am not able to make out whether it is readily accessible in my case or not. I have HSBC Online Saver account which doesn't have any cheque book or Debit card facility as this Online Saver account is always linked with my HSBC Salary account and you can transfer funds present in the Online Saver to HSBC Salary account anytime via Internet banking.
Once it is transferred to HSBC Salary account, you can use then use it through cheque book or Debit card facility of the salary account.
