Previous earnings

Post by irahmany » Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:38 am

Hi there ... I am a new member of this highly professional forum. I am from Afghanistan, aged 27, holding a Master Degree in Computer Science and my earnings are much higher than 45000+ (as per HO Website). it worth-mentioning that I have 5 Children.

I have visited Europe in 2006 and UK in July 2008, currently holding UK Multiple visa until 25 Dec 2008. I am planning to lodge an application under the new tier 1 PBS. After assessment, I am confident I can get almost 95 Points for my age(27)=20, qualifications (MCS)=35, Previous earnings ($1500/Month x 12 = Pounds 18000/year * 11.4 for Afghanistan (Band E) =45. I have over 25000$ in my bank account which is more than Pounds 12400+ (2,800 for myself & 1,600 x 6 dependants). I have passed TOEFL for English Language and in meantime degree taught in English.

Although I am confident that I can apply by myself, but I still consider the services of a recognized professional association to process my application and give clear/precise guidelines. Such companies can be still-unclear or Workpermit.com.

My query is that, I have earnings from 3 different sources. 2 Part-time consultancy services and 1 of my 50% shared IT company operating in afghanistan. Each of the Earning is higher than the requirement for 45 points. Please suggest which one should i provide to claim points for ???

Also my earnings for 3 months is enough to get 45 points, should I show full 12 months ??? is that Mandatory ????

Any other ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Best regards,

Ibrahim.

I too would appreciate confirmation that evidence of less than 12 months earnings can be sent if the earnings during that period are sufficient.

As far as I know ... this should be acceptable ... someone told me that the HO will consider the rest of the months as 0 incomes. Means if you give them evidence of 8 months they will count the remaining 4 months as 0.

I think so ... this should be the case .. if someone doesn't want to claim points for the entire 12 months ... the rest of months should be counted as 0 incomes.

Let's hope for other posts.

HO is only interested in seeing that you are earning the depicted amount in 12 months period you claim points against. It does not matter to them if you earn it in 1 month or 12 months. As long as you can give the required proof for that, you can clam the points.

As you'll might be aware for prv earning you have to give 2 independent proofs tallying with each other..
hope this helps..

Thank you shifi for the description ... as now I understand that even if I provide solid evidence for my 3 months earnings ... that would be enough to score 45 points .... I can give them more than 2 realistic evidence for my earnigns ... which could be ... payslips, employment letter describing the salary, tax and other things and my personal bank statement.

What if I have other earnigns in my bank statement, which i don't want to claim points for ???? Will HO question that ???

Reading para 82 of the Tier 1 policy guidance will help.

With regards to OP's concern on whether a professional agency should be hired to do the job on OP's behalf - I think the choice is personal and depends on how confident one is in understanding the scheme and the requirements. If one can fully comprehend what sorts of "prescribed" documentary evidence is needed and can provide the same, then it is very easy to submit an application on your own. I guess most of the people visiting this forum do it themselves - with success!
On the other hand, if one is unable to grasp the requirements then it is advisable to go through an agency (provided the agency is a master of the game (I mean Tier 1)).
