ILR Long Residence Application Questions

Post by 1guyinlondon » Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:26 pm

Hi,

I am applying for ILR via the long residence route. I would be grateful if someone could please assist me with some questions I had:

1. "Since you started living in the UK have you spent time outside the UK?" If I went to Canada and then the US from there and back to the UK from the US, which country do I put as "Where did you spend time outside the UK?" Canada or US?

2. Do I include every single time I left the country? Even if it was a day trip outside the country?

3. "What was the reason for this time spent outside the UK?" Does it matter if I put holiday when I was visiting parents, or do I need to be very specific?

4. In the application form, there is a limit of 30 entries for time spent outside the UK.
a. Do I put the first 30 times I left the country since I arrived in the UK?
b. Do I provide a separate attachment later on with all the times I left the UK? If yes, where do I upload this? And is there a set format I should follow?

Many thanks in advance.

1. "Since you started living in the UK have you spent time outside the UK?" If I went to Canada and then the US from there and back to the UK from the US, which country do I put as "Where did you spend time outside the UK?" Canada or US? - Put in the final destination and explain the rest in the box provided for that entry.

2. Do I include every single time I left the country? Even if it was a day trip outside the country? - Yes, that is best practice.

3. "What was the reason for this time spent outside the UK?" Does it matter if I put holiday when I was visiting parents, or do I need to be very specific? Keep it short and simple. Holiday is okay, as is visiting parents. Fill in as you wish.

4. In the application form, there is a limit of 30 entries for time spent outside the UK.
a. Do I put the first 30 times I left the country since I arrived in the UK? Yes
b. Do I provide a separate attachment later on with all the times I left the UK? If yes, where do I upload this? And is there a set format I should follow? Yes, you should upload it with the rest of your supporting documents. Follow a similar format to the questions asked in the form. Include all the times you left (including all the 30 entries already in the form). Remember PDF is the recommended format for supporting documents so do it in a word/excel file and print as PDF to attach.
