ILR(M) - switch from 5yr to 10yr route

Post by Kyber33 » Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:11 pm

Hello,

My wife is on the spousal visa 5 year route which is scheduled to finish in April 2021 before she has to apply for ILR. I think she will pass the B1 English test however, for various reasons I’m not convinced she’ll pass the LifeinUK test.

Extensive studying and test retaking aside, what are her options if she’s not able to pass the Life in the UK test? Does she have to leave the UK and apply again for the 5 year route outside of the UK? Or can the time be extended, for example for a further 2.5 years. Or is it possible to formally switch to the 10 year route? Any advice would be appreciated. We meet all the other requirements, financial etc.

(Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, after searching I wasn’t able to find a thread addressing this).

She can apply another extension under 5 years of route (Flrm) instead switching into flrfp 10 years.

Suggestion:
Google “life in uk test web”, it is a website with tests and exams. Ask your wife to do the 15 exams (not tests) thoroughly. She will pass the test. I have suggested this link to around 50 people and counting in my circle.. all have passed. All questions are from these 15 exams. And yes some passed just last week so it is all latest.
