Will US Bankruptcy affects

Post by su.harish » Wed Sep 17, 2008 6:01 am

Hi Forum members, its very scary to read news about US Bankruptcy. And as they mentioned US economy is shaken bcoz of this and its facing all time low since WTC collapse in 2001. I am applying for Tier 1 General Visa in 2 months time. I am in all sorts of dilemma what needs to be done. I feel very sorry abt myself, when I decided to apply for UK such things are happening and everyone are telling its a foolish idea to go to UK in such crunch situations. Please share your thoughts abt this bankruptcy. And how will IT market face this slowdown. When is the ideal time to go to UK? Awaiting for your views. Thanks mate(s).

The current market conditions are not good in fact they are bad. It will worsen because in december it being christmas et al not a lot of hirings happen. However if your only going to apply for your visa in 2 months time and it would take another 2 months for you to get it and another month before you travel things might change for the better or worse by that time.Usually recruitments pick up in the 1st quarter , but in view of all the recent turmoil there is no way of knowing what the future holds for prospective job seekers.Currently there is quite a bit of redundencies happening. To start with the IT job market is very competitive, so anybody planning to relocate in the next 2-3 months "might" want to stay put especially if they have a secure job back home.It is very difficult to speculate beyond the next 2-3 months. Having said that I have read in another forum people are still getting contract jobs in IT for DBA skills etc.
