English Proficiency please help!

Post by RovCal_21 » Sun Dec 13, 2020 11:55 pm

Hello

I am currently in the process of applying for my wife's ILR via Tier 2 PBS dependent route. My question is regarding English proficiency. The application asks whether her degree was in English (which it is) and it asks for NARIC certificate as proof (as her degree is non-UK).

She also has B1 certification (IELTS academic).

Problem is I selected YES to the option that her degree was taught in english, it causes the option for B1 certification disappear. Instead makes the option for NARIC appear in the mandatory documents sections.

We want to submit my wife's IELTS certificate instead of going through the process of applying for NARIC certificate as that will cost time and money.

My question is shall I 1. Choose YES that my wife's degree was taught in english and submit B1 certification instead of NARIC or 2. Choose NO that my wife's degree was not taught in english and submit B1 certification.

My wife is a practicing doctor here in the UK.

kindly help

Option 2 is the right way to do it. Make sure the B1 SELT is valid.

It should be B1 SELT on the approved list. If it is older than 2 years old she should have used it for a previous application also.

Read the guidance as posted above.
