IDV app and UKCAS

Post by UzomaPhilips » Sun Dec 20, 2020 12:17 pm

Hello Good people,
Do I have to book and attend a UKCAS appointment if invited to use the IDV app? Can I just use the idv app and rest assured that it'll suffice if I upload the documents via the app although I have also submitted the via UKCAS website.

Just applied for Set Lr last week and slightly confused as some people seem to both. Paid about 70 quid for an appointment in Jan but would like to cancel if it won't affect my application.

Furthermore, I submitted the following documents :
Old Passports x2
New Passport page x1
Current BRP
Visa stamps and entry clearance on all passport pages
Proof of English - Masters certificate
LIUK
Consent form page one only as the applicant
Ticked Checklist.

Is this okay or have I missed anything?

Appreciate all the help and advise.

IDV is the past. You must book an appointment now.

Documents looks fine.

You can cancel the UKVCAS appointment and rebook but if cancelled within 48hrs you will loose the fees (if paid) OR £10 admin charge otherwise.

It seems the idv app no longer in use for months now or did you get an invitation to use it⁴

No I haven't received an IDV invite. I was merely anticipating one. Had no idea it is no longer in use.

Masters certificate from the UK. Yes.

That's fine then. Shame you can't check for check for available sopra steria appointments before cancellation.

I cancelled my initial booking within 48 hours as I looked at my work calendar and realised I couldn't take annual leave that day., Does this mean I have lost the money?.. That would be upsetting given I've just shelled out 2.4k GBP.

Thanks for the document submitted reassurance. Gives me some rest that I've been reading the forum attentively.

Thanks alot for the help!
