No, I have not for myself. Have you? Although I have applied for and received On the 24th Of Dec. my dependent’s British Passport.surabhi wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 9:12 amDid you get any further information about the ceremony or so?novalicary wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 11:27 amsurabhi wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:00 amOhh..I should really bang my heads now.![]()
After seeing your messgae, I just double checked my letter(email attachment). The last line in the letter is saying
'your children's application also has been approved'
this is the only line they mentioned about childrens application.
This is just mentioned as the last line very close to normal bla blas (data protection act etc). This is why I haven't noticed.
I think people are thinking(at least I was), individual applicantions will get their own letter(may be send to lead applicant's email address). This is what they did during ILR time.
Thank you very much for clarification and leding me in right direction.
Today i received the certificate of registration by post for my child. Certificate is Dated the day of the emailed stating both applicants approved.
Well, we managed to get an appointment in Bournemouth, but I see that as of 00.01am tomorrow morning, Bournemouth becomes Tier 4 and where we live becomes Tier 3. So not sure if we will be allowed to travel to the higher Tier 4 location.arjay wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:55 pmThanks, That's exactly what we feared would happen.CULLINAN wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:51 pmAlso note Southampton has been moved to Tier 4 Lockdown just now. Check the latest news. Many more areas have been moved to Tier 4 and some are moved one tier up.arjay wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 3:45 pmWell, after all the trouble we went to, to find and book a biometric appointment, which was in Southampton, far from where we live, they have now cancelled it, because they aren't opening on Saturday 2nd January. Couldn't they have decided that before releasing the appointment date into the system!
I now have to find out if I can get a refund on our return rail tickets, and start searching for a new appointment all over again!!
To be honest, I have to say, we were getting concerned about travelling by public transport to that higher risk covid area.
I did suggest they start using the IDV app again, but that didn't get much traction.
Our preferred choice (nearest) is Bournemouth (library), but even that is a higher risk than where we live, but is driveable. Though unfortunately I have yet to see an available appointment there, and it only opens 3 days a week.
Check tonight 12:01AM GMT. You will get one for 28th Jan.confused_magyar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:36 pmGood evening!
Quick question to all of those who applied recently - WHY THERE ARE NO APPOINTMENTS FOR JAAAAAANUARY?

Tried every location I can think of. Please let me know if you have managed to book any place at any date in the next month.
Thank you!
Shukriya. If appointments do not open right after midnight hang in there, they will open soon after. You should be able to book one for 28th Jan.confused_magyar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:09 pmThanks for the advice. Shukriya. Merci. Danke. GrazieKoszonom.

It is like a gamble. You may cancel but note free appointments are very rare. Also, it gets more difficult when there are more people in the same group/account. Probably easier if someone is alone in one account as would need only 1 slot to be lucky.bsc2007 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:19 pmWhen there is a discussion about the appointments not being available, does it only refer to the free appointments? I've booked paid appointments yesterday just after midnight thinking that they will disappear. However, I see that many appointments are still available.
If there is a possibility of free appointments, I may consider cancelling the paid appointments (£330 for three people via two different applications).
Thanks, I understand now. I would have usually taken the risk, but given your information that free appointments are rare and demand continuous monitoring, I think I will not make any changes now.CULLINAN wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:51 pmIt is like a gamble. Cancel within 48hrs - no refund
Cancel outside 48hrs - £10 admin charge
PS you need to check continuously throughout the day, different locations entering different postcodes.
I don't think you should be comparing application dates or types for any form of forecasting. The approvals are so random they're better than using prime numbers in encryption.
It isn't the right place, as the topic heading clearly indicates.littlebuns wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 3:22 pmNot sure if this is the right place to ask about passport application, but will passport office be working during the upcoming lockdown? About to apply but don't feel comfortable posting important documents now and they sit there for 3-4 months (seemed to be the case during last march and april)
Confirmed.

You have 45 working days after submission to submit biometrics. The deadline will be mentioned on your UKVI account @ further actions page. It is almost 2 months.lemar451 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 11:48 pmHi,
