Finally received the letter through my solicitor today!
Approved on 7 October 2020
Invitation print on 16 December 2020
Received invitation on 14 January 2021
Ceremony date - Soonest free public ceremony in my council, Brent, is 17 February, any day for a private one which costs £130.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this forum. It's been really helpful to feel like one is not alone during these challenging times when we have to handle so much happening around us and still wait patiently for our paper work to be done.
Good luck to everyone waiting, I wish you hear your good news soon.
Hi, when I called them last week they said group ceremonies are suspended. However, you can email the registrar to book private or use the home office reference number to book via the online portal.
Thank you.
Sure- I tried the online system it says home office number invalid.Yazzz95 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 1:56 pmThank you.
Do you know their email address?? I was trying to find on website but couldn't find it. Tried online booking system with my HO ref but system didn't find my details. I was approved on 5th Nov so I think I still have to wait.

Is there anyone who was approved around 19th Oct but still hasn't received any letter. Also can you please send me the email to contact HO.
I'm with croydon Council and looks like they have started virtual ceremonies. Has anyone attended one yet in croydon?
Hi,aswadi wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 1:01 pmMy caseworker has replied to an email requesting an update on the invitation that I had sent 1 week ago prior to the council even receiving my certificate. They kindly forwarded me an electronic copy of the invitation even though they had already sent it through the post. The date on the invitation is mid December and my approval was 9 October.

After sending an email to my local council, reply thusKay100 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 7:28 pmHi all
I think I spoke to soon. I got home today from work and saw my citizenship letter. It is similar to the email I received back in Oct but advising what I should do next.
I tried to book it online straight away but it won’t let me because the council couldn't find my details. I will ring them tomorrow to find out.
We are finally 2 steps closer to the BP.
Thank you all
Email invitations are accepted. You can forward them the email or print the email to show them on the day.
Hi DearMeMFM wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:33 amGood Morning Gillji,
I have the approval letter with 21.10.2020. The RBKC confirmed that they have my certificate. I haven't though received yet the HO Invitation Letter. Given the borough has my certificate I have tried to book the ceremony using the ref number on approval letter but does not work. Is it this number you have used to book your ceremony or perhaps on the Invitation letter you have a different number? Could you please let me know? Thank you.
