Set(o) or Set (f)

Post by kp1983 » Sat Jan 30, 2021 10:21 am

Dear All

My wife and I have ILR ( I was TIER 2 general and she was my dependent). We are looking to apply for ILR for our son (born in India), who is with us in the UK (TIER 2 general dependent). Would we apply for Set O or Set F ? Please advise.
Kind Regards
Kurian

Why didn't you include the child with your spouse's ILR application?? That would have made sense and been simpler.

You can use either set o or set F. They have slightly different questions/requirements in the online form.

Thank you for the very prompt response. My wife got the ILR in 2019. The intention then was to spread out the application cost and apply for our son later. I see that set (f) does not have the priority option, while set (o) does, so I will go for set(o). In terms of documentation set (f) asks for more. Is it a case of presenting whatever you can or just what they ask for. Please advise.

You simply submit what is asked for based on the immigration rules. The checklists at the end of the forms are generic.
