They received my application in February 2020 and I've received second later, then emails stating that it's now at advanced stage. I don't want to mix this with 2020 Timeline topic. Certainly not expecting anything this year but is anyone in the same situation? Likely to be part of the affidavit of loyalty?

I've got the second stage letter too but as you said, not expecting further progress this year. There are a lot of application pending from 2017, 2018, and 2019.

I'm in the same situation. Applied in January 2020. In October, as a reply to my email enquiry, I received "your application is in the advanced stage of processing"

"In general, it takes 12 months for a straightforward application to be processed from the date it is received to the date a decision is made. Processing times can vary depending on circumstances."
And you can wait a lot longer.

Hi all,
On Friday I received an update that my application for naturalisation have being submitted
to the Minister for a decision. What does it mean? What stage I'm on? I've never received any second letter.

Got this reply today:
Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic and the attendant requirement to comply with public health guidelines, unprecedented delays
are being experienced in the issuing of acknowledgment receipts. New applications will be dealt with as soon as circumstances allow.
As you can appreciate, the primary responsibility of this office has to be the welfare of the general public and the health and safety of staff members. Your continued patience in this matter is appreciated. You should also note that sending repeat emails on this matter simply adds to the burden of staff and will inevitably delay a response to your particular
query.

Got this today after they told me it's an advanced stage. Now it's a different story entirely. What a copy and paste
Your application for naturalisation is currently being processed with a
view to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions for the
granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for
decision when processing is complete.
The Division, like everyone in the State, has been impacted by the
restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 healthcare crisis. The restrictions
imposed have resulted in all Citizenship staff working remotely with
minimal access to the Office. Obviously these restrictions are outside of
the control of the division and have resulted in significant delays in
dealing with correspondence received in the Office and have had a negative
impact on processing times for all applications as the Division adjusts to
working in the current environment. The processing of the applications is
further impacted by the ability of Citizenship to contact other bodies,
many of whom will be negatively impacted by COVID-19.
I can confirm that the Division has engaged in concentrated effort to
process and complete all cases that remain outstanding for a considerable
period of time. Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a
decision has been reached on the application. Your patience in this matter
is appreciated.

I applied for citizenship in 2020 and have not received any e-mails. I had sent an e-mail asking if they would let me know they had received my application. All fees have been paid and would just like verification receipt of paperwork. Perhaps I e-mailed my request to the incorrect e-mail.
Kindest regards,

Guys??
I think we getting closer. i follow guys reporting approvals from 2019 and i think they have hit the Mid December applications. I reckon at this pace? 2020 applications should start getting approvals in about 3 weeks. Has Anyone who applied in 2020 (apart from Verona) gotten approved?

Never heard of anyone except Verona. Mine was February, but I follow guys reporting approval from November 2019. I applied in February 2020.

I dont think thats accurate. i believe people like you and others waiting for over 2 years is more of an exception than the rule. The majority of approvals have been from 2017-2019 and rarely from 2020. so that shows the existence of an aged priority system. If it was random as you suggest, there would be more than one person from 2020 getting approved. As of now we know of only 3 people from 2020 who have been approved.
