Dates on referee forms

Post by ted541 » Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:49 am

I have started to fill in the citizenship online forms last year and in meantime obtained signatures on referee forms. Unfortunately never submitted the application.

Time was passing I was busy with life and eventually I managed to fill it in today, submit it and pay. Gave referee details as on the signed documents from last year.

However I became worried if they will accept referee forms signed autumn last year? It will feel awkward to ask referees to sign again :(

I searched the forum and some people claim that documents cannot be older than 28-30 days from the application date. However I'm unable to find this requirement in any of the UKVI documents or maybe I'm not looking in the right places?

Can someone put me out of my misery?

UKVI can always ask for new referees or re-submission of the declarations if they are not happy with it.
Not aware of a specific rule on this but with referees I would expect a more recently dated document, just in case anything has changed in referees' circumstances or if they changed their minds. If you wish you could send an email to NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk explaining your details and the referee issue.
