Thank you for the wonderful input you have been giving and your advices on the previous threads have all been very helpful. I was wondering if you could help me out as well.

I am a doctor working in the NHS. I have currently completed 5 years on a Tier 2 visa . I have been in a UK approved training program over the last three years, and in a service job for the initial two years and have documents supporting this. I will be quitting my current training post and changing my employer in December 2021, and have a letter from the new employer confirming this. The new job will however be at the same grade as the current job, and will be a fixed period contract. I will be completing six years on a Tier 2 visa next Sep 2022 and hence will not be eligible for a further extension.

Could you please advise me if I could proceed with my ILR application at this stage or would I have to wait?

Tier 2 visa route does not exist anymore as it has been replaced with skilled worker route. Will you be changing your sponsor ? If yes then you must secure a new Skilled worker visa before applying for ILR

I am currently on my sixth year of skilled worker visa and will be able to continue on this only until September 2022. I have the employment confirmation letter from my new employer. Would this be enough evidence to apply for settlement.

No. Unless you apply for a new skilled worker visa with the new employer, this detail is irrelevant.

For ilr you must be in employment with your sponsor and be required for the foreseeable future. You will need a letter from your current employer confirming your employment details and the foreseeable future requirement.
