ILR application for Adult Dependent Child

Post by iocam » Sat Nov 13, 2021 6:41 pm

It is now due that we can apply ILR SET(O) application after 5 years stay in UK. Me, my wife and my child arrived UK together in end 2016, at that time my child was 14. Now my child is 19 (time flies), still a student and totally dependent on us, financially, living together.

Question
Under our application SET(O), Adult Dependent Child should submit separate SET(O) application on their own ? referencing Parent's UAN number. Correct? Or how Adult Dependent Child should apply their ILR ?

Thank you very much in advance.

SET(O) is correct.

Probably separate form, but linked to parents.
Requires English Language and KoL.

Thank you vinny. English and KoL done already.

Still I am not sure if we should apply together in one form. Or our child apply separately, then linked to our application. By "linking", I mean stating our UAN number in Child application. I am still not sure what to do. On safer side, I do think better to separate 2 SET(O) forms. Any wisdom ?

Anyone knows???

Should adult child dependent apply together in 1 SET(O) form? or separately in 2 SET(O) forms?

I believe there is not only me have similar issue. Many respected seniors, guru who have children arrived in UK as little boy or girl. 5 years passed and when you apply settlement, your little one become adult. How do you do? Any one to share their wisdom?

This is under the categories of others using SET(O) application

Settlement requirements
Only the following routes allow settlement applications for dependants:
•Skilled Worker
•T2 Minister of Religion
•InternationalSportsperson
•Representative of an Overseas Business
•UK Ancestry
•Global Talent
•Innovator
•International Agreement-Private Servant in a diplomatic household

Child dependant aged 18 or over Previous permission as a dependent child

A person applying as a dependent child who is aged 18or overon the date of application must only be granted permission if:•they are making an application for permission as a dependant of their parent or parentshaving last held permission as a dependant of their parent or parents•they are not leading an independent lifeIf the applicant is aged 18or overwhen they make their first application as the child of the family unit they should be refused. There may be circumstances where permission may be granted outside of the Immigration Rules, see Exceptional dependant applicationsfor further information.

From what it is relevant under other categories in SET(O). It applies adult child dependent as child dependent if that is not the first dependent application. It seems clearer but not exactly what is in my case.

I still have a question mark in my situation... Anyone can help?

Over 18 applies using a separate form
