Post by cgohil » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:46 pm

Hi,

I got my tier 1 visa in august end and now i am in germany.
I am planning to go to UK by bus, I have few queries.

1) Can I travel to UK by Bus with the tier1 visa from germany.
2) How my passport will be stamped if I go by Bus,
3) Who will note my presense in UK that I came here in UK during this period.

I will be there in UK for 2 days only.

I need ur suggestion.

cheers,

Using your numbering :-
  1. Yes!
  2. When the bus reaches the channel port ... if that is in France or Belgium ... you will deal with UK immigration on the French/Belgian side of the channel. They will stamp your visa, and that will be done before the bus drives on to the ferry/train.
  3. See 2 above. Your passport will be stamped.

Assume that the check might be the same as if you were landing at a UK airport. Obviously your passport will be checked, and the new visa in your passport should be stamped, on first entry using that visa.

It might be a good idea to have other relevant documents in your readily available hand luggage in case there is any query.
