Tier 2 Skilled Worker to ILR Absence (WFH)

Post by astrel » Mon Jan 03, 2022 12:13 am

Hi,

I travelled outside of UK to Country A recently, took a week off and asked my manager to work from home (from country A) for 8 working days. However, I'm now worried that it might impact my future ILR application, since the 8 day absence is not there in the employer's system and the confirmation my manager gave me to work from country A was given in one of the chats and was not entered in any system. I am allowed to work from the country A, but I'm a bit worried that the unexplained 8 working days might raise a suspicion when I apply for ILR (the total number of days sums up to 22 given the holidays)? Do I need to notify the legal department/HR about this? Do I need to try to take those 8 days off retroactively?

Thanks for any advice!

You will be fine as long as the company is willing to issue a letter when you apply ILR that the absence is authorised. Whether it is in the system does not matter to UKVI as they will not have access to it.
