Visa application for child

Post by Congypaul » Wed Jan 05, 2022 11:39 am

Hello all,

I'm looking for some advice.
My wife is currently living here on family visa, she has been here almost 2 years and due to apply for FLR in January 2023.
We would like to bring her child over from the Philippines, my visa application skills are rusty and I wondered if anyone had any experience of what needs to be done and any requirements that may not be obvious during the application process.

Any comments are appreciated
God bless

Apply as a child.

They also expect her to have sole responsibility, etc.

Hi,
Thank you vinny for your advice, would anyone here know, if granted the child visa would it make any difference to how long the mother has left on her current visa? I.e my wife is currently 2 years into her first visa leave to enter, she has 9 months left and then we apply for LTR.
My question is if the child visa is granted would she have only 9 months validity before we have to apply for the new one? Or would the home office take into account we would be shortly applying for LTR and add the validity to the child visa?. The latter seems to good to be true but if that's the case it may be worth waiting until we have the LTR visa?
Sorry if that doesn't make sense I'm crap at explaining 🙈

The child will be granted a visa with the duration the same as the mother.

Hi
thank you for your response, just to clarify if we applied now, the child visa would have just 9 months on? So we would need to apply again when the mother is granted the FLR visa?

Thank you for your help
