I found this thread is really useful, thanks everyone for sharing info!

I am also planning to apply for ILR visa sometime soon.
Since I have moved onto a new employer, I assume it would be better to provide a letter from previous employer to state that I had been working for them with TIer 2 visa?

Would be appreciated if anyone could clarify this.

I hope you're well. Glad to hear that

A letter from a previous employer isn't required. Please see below.
SW 24.2. The sponsor must confirm that they still require the applicant to work for them for the foreseeable future, and that the applicant is paid, and will be paid for the foreseeable future, at least the salary in SW 24.3.

*Required* Current employer letter - There is a continuing need for XX to remain in permanent employment with this firm in the UK + Please also note that XX is entitled to annual leave of YY days per annum. As you will note from XX’s schedule of absences from the UK, XX is frequently required to travel outside the UK as part of the duties of his/her employment.

I asked my previous employer for the absence letter since I was out of the country for 2 months+ last year. Hope this helps.
