ILR Application (10 Years Route) with 2months 13days Gap

Post by imrozanik1992 » Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:29 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am in need of your valuable suggestions…

My Timeline in the UK:

Undergraduate Student Visa: 27/08/2012 to 30/11/2016.
However, I landed in the UK on 15/09/2022.

I have completed my graduation in 2016 and switched to Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa.
Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa: 23/09/2016 to 14/10/2019.
Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa: 16/09/2019 to 23/09/2022.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis, I lost my job (Tier 2) in September 2020.

Therefore, I had to switch from Tier 2 visa to Student Visa.
Masters Student Visa: 08/02/2021 to 04/06/2022.

On the last day of my current visa (04/06/2022), the duration for my continuous long residency would be 9 years 8 months 20 days.

Therefore, I will be 3 months 11 days short to complete 10 years.
However, I will be 2 months 13 days short if I consider I will be eligible to apply for ILR 28 days before 10 years which is 17th August 2022.

In the abovementioned situation, which path would be best suited for me to choose? Should I apply for ILR with the gap of 2months 13 days?

I understand that I can apply for Graduate Route Visa after I get the official master’s results to extend my current stay and then apply for ILR after 2/3months however that will cost me an extra 3/4/5 thousand pounds (Visa Fee + IHS fee with one dependent) which is not ideal for me as per my current financial situation.

Your comments and suggestions would be much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you very much indeed.

You need to apply for Graduate visa or any other visa to cover the gap. Costly but necessary.
