ILR application: Police Registration

Hello forum!

I have been granted my renewed BRP card in March 2020, made a booking for OVRO to register it, but a booking slot was cancelled due Covid restrictions. I received 2 emails saying that I do not need to attempt to re-book an appointment, also I will not be penalised and OVRO will contact me later to notify me of cancellation or to re-schedule a new appointment. So still silence since that time.

Do I need to register my BRP now for my ILR application? Or I can ignore it? Or perhaps it is better to write a cover letter with explanation?

A cover letter is fine. This is a minor issue and many have got ILR without updating their PRC due to covid
