ILR for dependants

Post by dewdrops1420 » Mon Jul 25, 2022 12:15 pm

Hi,

I got my ILR in hand and my last day at my current sponsor of T2G is 12th august.

My husband and son are eligible to apply for ILR only after 27th august as they got T2G dependant on 27th sep 2017.
My daughter is planning to get British citizenship.

Just now I came to know that I have to be with the same sponsor when my family is doing biometric.
Is that true?

So should I change my last day with the current employer?

Thanks

Who told you such a thing ? When you get ILR, all your work restrictions and limits are lifted as you are NOT under the skilled worker rules anymore. Your dependants' ILR application has NOTHING to do with your employer or your employment status at all

My colleague told me just now. It seems home office told him in July 2021 and he followed the same for his wife and kid.
In ILR application form also, they are asking about my T2G visa, so I also got doubt.

Are you sure I can leave the company before my family's ILR biometric?

He is telling me to apply for super priority ILR so that they will get BRP on 29th( as they cannot do biometric before 27th august considering 4 years 11 months stay) and I can leave company on 30th august.

I suggest ignoring your colleagues as obviously, they know nothing about the rules. Where does in the immigration rules such a requirement is mentioned ??? The form asking those questions does not mean anything. The home office also does not provide any immigration advice, did he get such terrible advice via UKVI phone numbers from 3rd parties ???

He gave me a Home office number also.

According to you, my family can apply for biometric on 27th august rt if their T2G started on 27th september.

Or can they apply before that?

No dependancy for my daughter's british citizenship even if she is currently on T2G dependant.

Home office numbers are manned by third parties dishing out incorrect advice regularly. I have witnessed this hundred of times here. Do NOT rely on such advice at all. Advice must be given as per the immigration rules.

The biometrics date has no bearing on the results. The application date is the date you submit it online. The biometrics date is irrelevant.
As you have ILR, any UK-born child is entitled to be registered as a British citizen and there is no need for ILR. Use form MN1 to regsiter
