Hi guys,
I have a question about the starting point on 10 year continuous residence ILR route and would appreciate your help.
I have been resident in the UK since 2009 but have not met the ILR criteria yet due to long summer holidays in my early years of residence as a student.
This year on September 10th the total duration of days spent outside the UK falls to 494 which makes me eligible to apply for ILR.
I was away on a summer holiday from 22nd May 2012 to 10th September 2012.
I wonder, can I also use the period between those two dates as a starting point for 10 year count and apply earlier as long as it does not exceed total of 540 days or is that not possible since I was outside the UK temporarily during that period?
I hope that makes sense.

I would say it does count assuming you had valid visa during that period outside the UK

If you do so, make sure you include a cover letter to specify the 10 year period to be considered.

Thank you, yes I was on a valid visa throughout the period.

Thanks a lot. Do I need to include anything else in the cover letter?

Hi guys,
I have submitted an application for ILR on long residence route. One of the evidence requirements is: All previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK.
I have held 4 different BRPs including current one but I can’t find the physical copy of one of the previous ones. I do have a colour photograph of it though.
Does anyone know if the physical copy is mandatory and what could I do about it? Thank you.

You only need to submit the current brp copy uploaded. You do not need all of rhe brps you have held

Hi guys,
I have applied for ILR on long residence route, waiting for UKVI appointment for biometrics.
I have uploaded documents online but I’m confused about previous passports. I presume they need to see the travel stamps in my previous passports so do I need to upload copies of all pages of my previous passports or just the ID photo pages? Or do I submit them in person?
Thanks

Does it apply only to passports I have held during the last 10 years or even older ones?
And do I have to scan and upload them myself or can UKVI do that for me?

at least those covering the whole period on which you are basing your application

Scan and upload them yourself if you can. UKVI will not scan for you, this will be UKVCAS and its mostly a paid for service
