Questions for ILR application

Post by alanchunny » Mon Apr 03, 2023 8:07 am

Hi everyone, first post here.

I have extended my spouse visa and now after 5 years living in the UK, I need to apply for ILR for my wife.

I am self employed and receive rent. My wife also works.

Questions:
1. Can I just provide bank statements of my rent and my wife's statements as they are over £20,000 already? Or do I need to provide my self employment accounts as well?

2. For my rental income, do I need an accountant to provide a statement or is my rental contract and bank statements enough?

Thanks everyone.

There is a whole guide on this. I suggest going through the categories that are relevant and looking at the requirements:
Guide: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... rement.pdf

Note that self-employment income is considered under categories G or F. Rental income is considered under category C. Income from Category C can ONLY be combined with income from Category A and Category B: salaried and non-salaried employment, Category D: cash savings and Category E: pension, in order to meet the financial requirement. So you cannot combine those incomes
