Hello, I’d like to start off by saying I’m very happy to have this useful forum which has been very resourceful.
I have a specific question about the employment requirement for the ILR Set O application (Tier 2 - General) which I follow up after briefly mentioning my own specific scenario.
My scenario: I’m a medical professional on a Tier 2 - General visa, following are the key timeline dates.
Date of Tier 2 visa issued in passport: 25/01/2019
Date of arrival to the UK on a Tier 2 visa: 29/01/2019
I have not had any unlawful absences from the country since I’ve moved here.
Current job contract: as part of medical training, employed with current employer until end of April, 2024.
As per the ILR calculator I’ve used online just to get an idea as to the earliest date I can apply, it says 27/12/2022.
My question is if I can apply on the 27th of December or early Jan and if would a letter from my employer stating that I am employed with them until the end of April would qualify as a reasonable time period as being employed for the “near foreseeable future”? Or would it be advisable to apply for a new job (on Tier2) and then start the ILR application in April?
I’d appreciate any help. I have read quite a few websites including the official guidance and haven’t been able to obtain this information (mainly as it’s quite a specific query).
