DVILR

Post by Roshini » Mon Apr 10, 2023 11:42 pm

This is a great platform , thanks for that.
Hi I’m going to apply for DVILR, because my husband is emotionally abusing my daughter ( as he is her step dad) He is targeting my daughter always for everything and saying he’ll revoke our visa and stop her studies and he frequently asked us to Lea the house, so I’ve asked by the social worker to live separately from him to protect my daughter . Now I’m going to apply for DVILR but still deep in my heart I want to reconcile with him . Is reconciliation possible after applying DVILR , or I have to look for work visa if I want to reconcile with my husband in future. Please help.

If you receive ILR via DV, it'll be ILR - you won't need a visa to work, you'll have indefinite leave (and right to work).
Not sure how coming back to the husband may be treated, but I would be afraid that could be seen negatively, as idea of DV entails willingness to separate.

Thanks for your reply, I’ve been in UK since 2018 September under spouse visa, and nearly about to complete my 5 years in 2023 September, all these issues happened in a sudden and we were so happy all these years . Sometimes he abuse me as well I took it as a part of family life . But I need to protect my daughter from his abuse. I’m really sad after separation, it was told that if I’m not taking care of the well-being of my daughter she’ll be separated from me . Now I’m on DDVC visa having for another 3 months, I’m thinking whether to switch for work visa or to go for ILR. If I get ILR due to DV and if we reunite in future what will happen to my ILR , Home Office will revoke my ILR? Or I need to inform home office if I reconcile with my husband, I didn’t had anyother options other than separation. What should I do if I want to reconcile?😢

The guide on this path provides all you need to know. You should provide string evidence of DV for ILR: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... olence.pdf
