SET-M Travel questions

Post by gautam410 » Thu Mar 02, 2023 10:29 am

Hello, I'm trying to fill out the form for ILR- set-M 5-year route and I have doubts about a question in

Details of your time spent outside the UK:
Where did you spend time outside the UK for more than 2 weeks?

now last year I went to Dubai for 1 day to meet family and then went to India for 5 days and came back to Dubai for 8 days so in total I have stayed out of the UK for more than 2 weeks but not in 1 single country. But the answer section has a dropdown of 1 country, dates traveled, and reason for going out of the country.

what should I do?

Choose UAE (more time was spent there) and explain your situation in either a cover letter or a note on the application. It's not a deal breaker regardless.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Family route has no absence limit so those questions are totally unimportant

SET-M - Evidence of monthly housing costs for the accommodation in the UK

Post by gautam410 » Fri Mar 03, 2023 11:45 am

Hello, I'm applying for SET-M(ILR) and they have asked me to provide the form "Evidence of monthly housing costs for the accommodation in the UK.". I'm a new house owner(<1 year) and hence have not received the mortgage statement yet. What else can I provide for this?

Applicants should supply documentary evidence of rent or mortgage payments and Council Tax, along the lines of:

• a letter from the landlord or mortgage provider detailing the weekly or monthly rental or mortgage cost of the property
• at least one personal bank statement to show the rent/mortgage payment leaving the account of the sponsor, their partner or the couple jointly
• rent book (if available)
• letter from the local authority detailing whether and how much Council Tax is payable
See Housing costs in the guide: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... dation.pdf

If corrected already at the appointment no need to be anxious.

Are you part of any social groups or do you have other cultural ties in your country of birth, nationality, or any other

Post by gautam410 » Mon Apr 17, 2023 11:33 am

How significant are the inquiries about friends and social ties in ILR applications, and could providing extensive details about them lead to delays in the ILR processing time?
  • Do you have any friends in your country of birth, nationality, or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
  • Are you part of any social groups or do you have other cultural ties in your country of birth, nationality, or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
I ask this because I provided a lot of information about my family members, friends, and a local charity that I used to belong to in response to these questions, and I have noticed that individuals who submitted their applications after me have received their results, but I have not.

Is it possible that providing more information could prolong the processing time?

HO states each application is unique and attended to on its own merit. You can not use others applications and outcomes to gauge yours neither can anyone here tell you reason why yours seems delayed. Did you ask clarification here for how detailed your responses to those questions on the form should be when applying?
Exercise some patience and be hopeful.
