Application withdraw

Post by alimohamedhamed » Tue Apr 18, 2023 11:28 pm

Hi Guys,
I made a mistake in my application and realized it after submitting my fingerprints and photo. It's been three months, and I haven't received a response from the Home Office. If I withdraw my application, will I still be eligible to stay in the UK? My current migration status is humanitarian protection, valid until June 2023.

Also, Will withdrawing my application have any impact on my new application? I made a mistake in my previous application, and now I want to apply again.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

A mistake in an application should not generally affect the outcome. UKVI uses the evidence NOT the answers on the form to make a decision. Answers on the form are often viewed as guides for the caseworkers unless you made false claims. What was the error ?

Thank you for your reply,
The application was for my wife, and I have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). I mistakenly applied for Settlement Adult Relative for her, but I realized that I should have used the ILR application after holding humanitarian protection (HP) for five years. So, I have decided to withdraw the incorrect application and apply again for the correct one, as her current leave is still valid.

I made a mistake by choosing the incorrect application. I hope my questions are clear now.

and another question please: If I request to cancel the application, will it be canceled straightaway, or will it take time? I'm worried that if it takes too long, my wife's leave may expire.

You should not withdraw, you should apply for a new application to vary the previous application

I have already submitted my fingerprint and photo. Can I still submit a new application without withdrawing the previous one?

Yes, submitting a new application while you have an existing one is called varying.

Thank you, Zimba! Your prompt response is much appreciated. I have one more question please: should I mention my previous application in the new application, or will it be automatically considered?

The new application will ask you about it. However, it will be automatic
