Gap between visas?

Post by nattaye » Sat May 06, 2023 12:34 am

Hi guys, would appreciate any advice for my situation!

I am seeking to apply for ILR (10 year route) in Sep 2024. I have been on consecutive T4 student visas since first arriving in the UK in Sep 2014. However, there is one short gap between the expiry of my first T4 visa (ending 12/08/15) and the start of the next visa in 12/09/15. I want to check if this makes me ineligible to apply for ILR in Sep 2024?

For a bit more context, I was not in the UK during this gap as I had returned home for the summer, while being confident that I had an offer from my university, and was expecting to return for the next academic year. I do remember my CAS statement being sent to me unusually late (21/8/15) and being stressed about this. I had put in my visa application immediately the day that I received it, and I remember paying a lot more for the expediated process.

If you left before visa expiry, then that is a short absence and has no effect
