ILR application via Skilled Worker Dependent Route (5 year) Set(O) - additional document request ?

Post by NewRoots2025 » Fri Aug 08, 2025 5:31 pm

Hi all,

I’ve applied for ILR under the Skilled Worker Dependant Route 5yr (Set O).

My husband settled in the UK earlier this year via the Skilled Worker route 5yr, and my current skilled worker dependant visa is valid until early 2026.

Today I received an email from the Home Office asking for the following:

A letter from your employer that states:
Your current SOC code,
Your current salary,
Payslips
Any absences out of the country were authorised and,
That you are required for the foreseeable future

I’m currently not employed, and as far as I know there’s no financial requirement for dependants applying for ILR.

Could it be that they’ve misunderstood my application type and assumed I’m the main Skilled Worker applicant rather than a dependant?

Has anyone experienced this before, and how should I respond to clarify this? very confused about it.

Thanks in advance!

None of those are required for dependants at all.
Which option did you choose when applying using form SET(O) ?
SET(O) application should have been filed under 'Skilled Worker, Tier 2 or International Sportsperson dependant'

Then write back and explain that you applied as a dependant and you are NOT a sponsored worker to provide such documents. They should notice their error

Thanks. I have sent them email on the address they asked to send additional documents. Explained that I applied as Skilled worker dependent.

Will update once I hear from them.

@zimba - No response yet, I had replied to them on Friday itself. I used priority service and 5 working days ended yesterday (Monday).

Any idea how long they take after requesting additional documents?

Also, will I be entitled for refund for priority fees as this is clearly a mistake from the caseworker. If so, how does one apply for refund?

Thanks a lot.

The priority timeframe no longer applies. So they can take longer.
You may request a refund if they did not offer it.

PS - Won't be following up for priority service refund. As got the decision fairly quickly ( within 6 days).
