Fast Track Immigration

Post by sathyauk » Fri Sep 12, 2025 12:20 pm

On 22 June 2024, the government of India launched the Trusted Traveller Programme (TTP), which seeks to enhance efficiency and security at Indian borders by automating entry/immigration processes for qualifying travelers seeking admission to India. The TTP is being rolled out in two phases. On 22 June 2024, the first phase was implemented for eligible Indian nationals and foreign nationals holding OCI (i.e., Overseas Citizen of India) cards. In order to enter India under the TTP, interested individuals must first apply online via the government's website and submit their biometrics.

I've read that page on the MHA website and understand the registration requirement.

What happens though if I have a valid Indian passport that I haven't surrendered after taking British citizenship?

If I register for fast track using my Indian passport, and present my Indian passport at the port of entry in India, but intend to use my British passport to get back into the UK on my return, what happens?

(I'm aware I'm required to surrender my Indian passport on accepting the British one)
