points calculation for earnings-please help-urgent !!!

Hi,

please let me know if earnings are assessed before deduction of tax(gross earnings) or net pay that i get credited in my account(reflected in my bank account) after tax deduction.

also in case if i take earnings that is before tax then this amount will not be reflected in bank statement

kindly help.

Update: Yes, it's gross income they care about:
We assess your gross salary before tax. This also applies if you are self-employed and draw a salary from your business.
(Emphasis mine.)

I think your net income as reflected in the bank statements should match your net income as indicated by your paystubs, but your gross income as reflected by the paystubs or employer's letter, etc. is what actually matters; the net income is used to corroborate the validity of the paystubs. (If you submit tax documents instead, I think they expect the gross pay indicated on the paystubs to match the gross salary indicated in the tax documents.)
