I dont think so.. atleast last time this was not the case.. All the applications recieved before the start date were considered as per the old rules...

Hi Nksg, by this do you mean Bechelor's Degree wont be valid even if the application is made on 20th March.
And Beatallica, If you are applying from outside UK through a VFS center then the day on which you apply at VFS would be considered your date of application. This is mentioned at following webpage of HomeOffice site.

I dont think so.. atleast last time this was not the case.. All the applications recieved before the start date (of the new rules) were considered as per the old rules...

Apologies for any confusion.

Hi NKsg..
I think I got myself confused but from Beatallica's question which ends in ...would the old rules apply i.e. bachelor's is valid... and your reply which starts... i dont think so.. atleast last time it was not the case....
made me think the worst.. but from your second reply its clear that old rules prevail till 1st April.

cheers
Shammi

I agree with nksg.

If we assume that the new rules come into effect from 1st of April and you submit your application before that date, then the application will be considered under the existing rules and not the new ones.

At the same time HO may suspend accepting the applications couple of weeks before the suggested changes come into force as they did last time in Nov/Dec 2006.

So if you want to apply before the deadline, do it ASAP

Could someone else confirm this as well, pls?

I will be applying from the UK.
There is no confirmation as yet. This is what happened the last time the rules changed, but there is no official document that says that this is what they will do. It's a theory, but it isn't within the realms of implausibility.

Did not mean to scare anyone here but this is what they did last time. So those who are planning to apply now should do sooner rather than wait any further.

Application submitted on 31st of Mar will be considered as per new regulation. So need to submit by 3oth for it to be assessed as per current regulation.
