this call centre officials know nothing. they just seat there to get premimum number call so that they can earn money when some one calls them. such a shame!!! i have a feelings that HO will apply it to all same as before. and then people will go to court and HO will loose miserbly again. but this court process takes years.. so in the mean time HO will send back thousands of HSMP holder. this HO is shameless, bunch of cowards... who loves to back stab people!! and they will publish the rule as late as possible so that HSMP holder dont get enough Time for applying early... Shame on this cowardsssssss!!jimmymcad wrote:Yes, i called the 0870 606 7766, and asked them , the lady say "we don't have any guideline sir, please refer the websites for updates". I asked her if i could apply early, her reply was ambiguous, sounded she did not know.
I discussed with her wether it would be a switching TO TIER1 or an extension application as HSMP exists no more, She says, "it's an extension application".
Again, leaving in doubts. Panicking...
extension application can be made any time but the visa will be valid from the processed date not from the date of current visa expiry. it means if my current visa is due to expire in october and if i apply now then i will loose 7 months which means i will have to extand again after 3 years to fulfill 5 years ILR rule.bitterweb wrote:Many here confirmed that application for extension can be made much earlier before expiration. So why don't all of you who fear the worst would happen just file your applications now?
That's not what I was told in my previous post.nionlight wrote:extension application can be made any time but the visa will be valid from the processed date not from the date of current visa expiry. it means if my current visa is due to expire in october and if i apply now then i will loose 7 months which means i will have to extand again after 3 years to fulfill 5 years ILR rule.bitterweb wrote:Many here confirmed that application for extension can be made much earlier before expiration. thats is not extctly corect. some one needs very strong reason for applying early. and if ase officer accepts that reason then he will extand the visa from current visa expiry. other wise he will simply issue visa from the date it was issued. so its toally discretion of case workser. it means there is a huge risk. but anyway, if the new rule applies for every one then there is no other option left but to apply early.bitterweb wrote:That's not what I was told in my previous post.nionlight wrote:extension application can be made any time but the visa will be valid from the processed date not from the date of current visa expiry. it means if my current visa is due to expire in october and if i apply now then i will loose 7 months which means i will have to extand again after 3 years to fulfill 5 years ILR rule.bitterweb wrote:Many here confirmed that application for extension can be made much earlier before expiration. Did you mean "2-3 months"?highly skilled wrote:I spoke to someone in work permits a couple of weeks back and they suggested that I can request to have my tier 1 start from the expiration date of my current leave, but that they cannot guarantee granting it from that date and that this is subject to their review. despite the fact, i was told that applying early is acceptable, but that they "do not recommend applying more that 2-3 weeks before leave expiry".
