HSMP Dependent applying from outside the UK

Hi,

I have been in the UK since Sep 2007 under the HSMP VISA.

HSMP VISA : Sep 2007 - Sep 2009
Applying for extension in June 2009

My husband will be joining me as my dependent. I have the following questions:
1) Am I correct to say that he needs to fill up the VAF10 Application Form?
2) If he were to apply now, would he be given a dependent VISA until Sep 2009 ?
3) If that's the case would it be best for him to wait till I extend my VISA?
4) Which form should he use then?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi Rollie,

My wife went to VFS office to apply for my son's HSMP visa..

so they told fill up - VAF10 form.

Yes, I think they will give dependant visa based on Main applicant's visa..so it will be upto sep 2009.

If you are going to switch to Tier-1 like I did now..then I think fee for dependant applying from outside UK is more than applying from within UK, but if you consider HSMP extension fee + Tier-1 fee from UK..it will come to same as applying outside UK directly Tier-1. ofcourse all that dependants on approvals and time it takes..like in my cast it took from Feb last week to May second week to get my Tier-1 visa approval.
