Dependent visa checklist - please confirm

Post by tulipz » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:01 pm

Hi,
I am applying for dependent visas for me and my daughter. Please check and confirm if the below checklist is fine.

Application forms
Passports (mine and my daughter's)
Marriage Certificate, photos
Baby;s birth certificate.
2 photographs
Application fee
Covering letter from dependant
Sponsor letter from main applicant ( is a fax copy acceptable?)
Main applicants passport copy - all pages
Maintainence letter & bank statements stating that funds have never gone below 6000 GBP (my husband went to the UK in june)
Accomodation proof: Is a hotel booking acceptable?

My husband is working there through his Indian company. He gets allowance in the UK and full indian salary. He doesnt have any allowance slips. Does a letter from his employer do? Or is it safe me to declare that he is looking for a job in the UK and is on leave from his current employer in India (salary entry is there in the bank statements).

I'll be glad if someone could give a link to the dependent policy document

I am applying from VFS Hyderabad...Any idea on the timelines? Do I need to take my daughter (1yr old) to VFS while filing the application?

Thanks in advance

Documents looks ok...

Use separate covering letters for each of u to keep things simple..

Payslips are not required to be furshined for dependent visa but if your hubby can get a letter from employer that would be great.. go for it..

Timelines from HYD is 2-3week max.. i took my 2yrs kid when she applied better if you can(i think u have to...)

Accomodation.. it would be great to get a letter from landlord where ur hubby staying if u r planning to join in the same place or ur hubby can get an advanced Rental Agreement where u plan to live when u join him.. but many say accomodation is not required.. i say better safe than sorry..

Goodluck on ur application

Ramesh, Thankyou for the reply.

Is a scan copy of the sponsor letter acceptable?

Is hotel booking acceptable as accomodation proof? the thing is that he lives in company provided accomodation and I am likely to find an assignement in the UK through my current employer. So, we intend to rent a flat close to my work place. At this point of time, my client details are not clear.

Also, can I show maintenance funds from 2 accounts? (my account and my husband;s account...both salary accounts)

Is this the letter from Main applicant about his dependents?? if yes.. it shd be fine.. but better get a colour scan and colour print..

Can your hubby can get a letter from his company that you will also join him and accomodation is taken care of them?? that would be good n better than hotel booking

Or your hubby can get an rental agreement (future/post dated) where you r planning to rent a flat once u join him..

its bit tricky but i think it is OK.. but just wait for a confirmation OK on this point from other seniors..
