UKBA Postal Timings

I have been informed by my friend who happens to be a visa consultant that UKBA or Home Office posts the documents back 2 days in a week once on Monday of every week and once a thursday so according to him if you do not receive your docs after monday (i.e: Tue/Wed) or not after Thursday (i.e: Fri/Sat), you are likely to get them the week after.

He might be making sense but not to me

Does anyone else came to know sommat like that

very interesting finding. i have got my documents twice from Home office on a Tuesday.

Can we post our documents on friday and saturday.

Coz if we send by Special delivery it ll take 1 day if someone post on friday it ll reach on saturday bt i guess UKBA is closed on saturday.

Is there any who posted on friday or saturday please confirm

never done that but i am sure there will be someone who has experienced that.

I recall when I applied for SEGS donkeys years ago, I got my docs back on Saturday

As far as I know, normally RM delivers the special deliveries on Monday if they are posted on Friday (it is still 1 business day).

However, you can request the mail to be delivered on a Saturday if you pay a bit more. Considering UKBA is not open on Saturdays (or is it?) there is no reason to do that.

So, if you send your post by SD on a Friday, it will be delivered on Monday.

that is fine for UKBA but if UKBA posts docs back on friday via Special Delivery it should come back to us on Sat as People are not business addresses all times and are at home. do i make sense

If you have included a pre-paid envelope, you must have paid the correct fee for Saturday delivery which is more than week day delivery fee.

Otherwise, they send it via recorded delivery anyway.

Nice finding ID.

Maybe we can have a poll where people who have got their decisions can post on which day the docs were posted by the HO, and so can have some empirical data on the same.

This would help people expecting their decisions relax on at least some days of the week:).

yup tht makes sense so we can send our documents on friday and saturday also . this is written in UKBA site so tht means its better not to send on friday then

Your application must arrive during normal business hours (0830 to 1630, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays), or receipt cannot be guaranteed.

If I were you, I would send on a day other than Friday and weekend.

yup thanks even i wud send on a weekday only insteady we can pay more and ask for same day delivery rather than sending on weekends and getting worried whether it reached or not.

i did include a self addressed return envelope so hopefully i should get it on sat if it were to arrive on saturday.

yes, we could have a poll so to give others an idea about timings and days to post the application.

But this means we are going nuts by trying to figure out this statistics. Maybe a branch of science should be established called tieroneology or something.
