PROBATIONARY CITIZENSHIP

Post by AntCoe » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:26 pm

Hello Everyone

The UK ANCESTRY route towards citizenship will form part of the "Family Route" BUT will be also be part of the probationary citizenship process.

Can anybody further analyse this? Example-the family route says 2 years towards PC...will this mean the UK ANCESTRY route towards PC will also be changed from 5 years to 2?

There is no end to the confusion the ukba has given migrants!

Regards

In this consultation(See page 13-14), the UKBA mentioned Ancestry route, in as far as getting public opinion on whether it should be abolished or not.

Under their definition of Family Route, Ancestry does not fall into it, and i am confident it doesn't fall under the Tier system either.

The family route has criteria, which i don't think Ancestry would meet, except if they decide to make concession for them. It is yet to be seen.

The probationary citizenship is in a state of muddle, and i think further adjustment would be required.

The good thing for the Ancestry route migrant is that, there is huge public support for them, which is not suprising.

In a nutshell, no one knows yet how the new system will actually work.

Could this be made a sticky please, as there is so little solid information pertaining to Uk Ancestry and when light is shed on this it would be easy to add the new info here.

I don't agree, ancestry visa affects so few it would annoy everyone else.
