Time period to make the first entry to UK

Post by babumk » Thu Dec 10, 2009 10:38 am

I would like to know if there is a stipulated time period within which we have to make the first entry to UK from the visa validity start date.

Is it acceptable to enter UK say after, 4 months from the validity start date? Also does this have a consequence on visa extension at the end of 3 years ?

You can enter UK anytime before ur visa expires.. but it is recommended to enter with 28days with ILR in point of view.. but things are chaning..

No it will not have any effect on ur extension if u come in 4months

We would like to inform you that applicants can travel to UK as long as their passport and visa is valid.
If you need help with your application or advice about the UK’s Immigration Rules and requirements, you should seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser.
In the UK these are immigration advisers regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC – www.oisc.gov.uk) or legally qualified professionals regulated by designated professional bodies.

The Law Societies of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the Institute of Legal Executives can provide a list of Law Firms who can advise on immigration matters. Their websites are:
Law Society of England and Wales
Law Society of Scotland
Law Society of Northern Ireland
Institute of Legal Executives

There is no time limit. I entered UK on last Sunday, 13 months after getting Tier 1 visa. The immigration officer did not ask a single question regarding my late entry.
