Employer Letter for ILR?

Post by VOLKAN » Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:51 pm

Hi everyone,

When you apply for ILR you have to show a letter from your employer stating they will need you after you obtain the ILR. Correct me if I am wrong.

If the employer refuses to give this letter what can you do? Or if the employer asks you to stay for example of another six months what can you do?

I wish there is no such a requirement so every one finish the 5 years get the ILR automativally. We are in the hands of the employer.

Please advice me.

Depend on the situation regarding employer letter. It is not required for Tier1 holder. If you are WP holder, you will need it and the letter also has to state that they will still need you. ILR is not the final solution. You can still have extension for the WP after it expired.

What about if I am on Tier 2 visa? Do I still need a letter from my current employer stating that they need me?

Thanks,

Volky

I think you will need the letter that should mention that they will still need you.

yesterday's WP = today's Tier 2.

Since in WP/Tier 2 cases, stay in UK is dependent on employment with the work sponsor (employer), the letter perhaps works as documentary evidence that the applicant's stay in UK has been lawful (in the sense that the applicant worked for the named permit sponsor and not someone else).

All IMHO ..
