Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here is aware wheter it's possible to switch from Tier1 PSW to Tier1 highly skilled's dependant without leaving UK...
I am on Tier1 Post study work and recently got married and my husband is on Tier 1 Highly skilled worker. I want to apply for the depedant visa but not sure if it's possible to do it from within the UK. Seems like I might have to go to india and apply for this visa. I still have few months visa left on my PSW visa.
Is it possible to do the switch from within the UK?
Thanks,
Het

It is possible to switch from Tier 1 PSW to Tier 1 General (HSMP) but, you have to return to home country to switch from Tier 1 PSW to Tier 1 General dependant.

Hello,
Thanks for replying.
So if we apply from India how do we make the payment? In Indian Rupees or Pounds? What contact details should we provide?
I downloaded the VAF10 pdf form, I guess this is the correct form? In this form there are two fields for writing the address... One is for the contact details and the other is for the residence address... I guess in the residence address we have to write our indian address in Contact address and our UK address in Residence address even if we are applying from within India... the VAF10 Guidance doesn't help much... I hope the UK address doesn't confuse the visa officer as we are applying from India.
Thanks in advance.

Chiraj,
Everything should be Indian ... what i mean is ... when you apply from india .. it is taken that you are applying a fresh (some one having no connections to uk or just returned from uk) .. so you can show proofs and all of UK ...but current address / payment all in indian Rs.... i hope you got the zest.

I beg to differ .....
If you're living / resident in UK and provide a home country address in response to question asking for your residence details in any visa application form, it may be viewed by ECO as falsifying factual information / using deception ... specially so if you provide evidence(s) that clearly highlight that you're a resident in UK (e.g. - UK bank statements in your name).
Provide UK address / contact details in response to question asking for residence details. Provide home country address & contact details in response to question asking for contact details (if different from residence details). Use the Additional Information box in the form to highlight that you've valid leave to remain in the UK and therefore are resident in UK and have travelled to home country temporarily only for the purpose of EC application. And that you have provided home country contact details in the appropriate box in case UK diplomatic post dealing with your application needs to get in touch with you regarding the application in the home country.
IMHO ....
regards
