Tier 1 Dependent Visa (on sticker dependent shown 0)

Post by stars209 » Sun Mar 21, 2010 10:01 am

Guys,

I have been reading this forum since i left UK some 2 years before, and trust me, this is this forum which encourage me to apply again to UK under Tier 1 (General Migrant) this time. And by the grace of almighty Allah i am successful again in just 5 days. it took only 5 days here in Dubai to process.
i have got my 3 years Tier 1 visa on my passport today.

Now the question i wish to ask is that, while i was filling my VAF9 Form, in Part 5a, it asks whether Partner accompanying or Joining Later? So i tick on Not applicable as i was thinking to apply for my family later on after few days in view that if rejected, i will loose a lot of processing fee( wife+2 kids each fee 4000AED) and if successful i will apply for them separately after few days. Now that i have received my passport and visa sticker mentioning all details and dependents as 0(zero) because i did not apply for my family at this stage and as described earlier i filled dependent as not accompanying with me now.

So now i am thinking to apply for them(my wife + 2 kids) as dependent. so linking to the scenario above, does it make any negative as the sticker mention dependent as zero? (in the VAF9 Form, i ticked as married when i was applying for my self few days before).

I did not lie any thing but in filling the form, i did not fill part 5a of VAF9 Form as i thought i dont need to fill at this stage.

Is this the case only with me or other fellows also did the same way.

Any guidance would be highly appreciated.

The dependants will be 0 even if you apply for your dependants. That number is for dependants without separate passport (I think).

Even if you said that your dependants wont accompany you in your initial application, I dont think there would be any problem for you applying for your dependants. Just write a covering letter and explain that the your family situation changed and would like your dependants to accompany you.
