Related to Visa transference to New Passport:

Post by Vamiq.khan » Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:04 am

Dear All

Do I require to transfer my visa to my new passport in order to maintain validity of both ? My visa is valid until 21/01/2012 however passport is expiring in July 2010. An I am scheduled to travel by the end of July 2010.

Looking forward to see your response. If answers made by providing sources will be great. If not than only knowledge sharing would also be appreciated.

With Regards
Vamiq

When travelling, just travel with both your expired passport which contains the valid visa, as well as your new passport! People do it all the time! You should be ok.

Rozen is right - my wife has been travelling with two passports for two or three years now, and we have little inclination to change this - given that our beloved UKVisas charge heavily for a 'Transfer of Conditions' i.e. copying the visa in to the new passport.
