PSW application form help! - Section D Immigration History

Post by rwatanabe » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:47 am

Hi everyone,

Under Section D (Immigration History), the first question asks "Did the applicant obtain entry clearance or visa before entering the United Kingdom?"
I find this question unclear on how to answer, as I obtained (renewed) my most current visa (student) while I was still in the UK last year. so do I answer "No", or would this still be a "Yes"? Or are they asking here about the time I first entered UK (which was about 11 years ago)?? I have been on student visa for the last 11 years (been renewed without any time gap). so confusing!!

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me with this question.

Thank you!

its talking about the most recent out of country application you made to come to uk(and entry clearance stamp you received after that app).

extension of visa is not relevant here, go further back to your original entry clearance and write those details,

For 99.99% of the time, you should be answering yes to that question or else it means you are illegal migrant!!!

you made me laugh there........how can you be so out of order to even think to answer no to that question........they are asking you if you got entry clearence when you entered this country.......well ofcourse you did......otherwise you would have been an illegal immigrant here.....and illegal immigrants cant go to a college or university in this country.......so the answer is yes!!

Over a period of 11 years, I am sure that you would have made a lot of applications to keep extending your student Visa. It boggles my mind to find you confused on such an obvious question.. HOW CAN YOU EVEN THINK OF ANSWERING NO TO THAT AFTER BEING IN THIS COUNTRY FOR 11 YEARS?? Funny though...
