rule says 28 days .... some people have applied 3-4 months before and were successful.... i applied 1.5 months and they told me it was little early (i did PEO premium and caseworker told me this) ..... seems like they have noticed people sending early application ....

You might get rejection / application returned / visa stamped from date of receiving ..... anything is possible.

thanks Pkumar,

there is no rule about 28 days, The Law does not say anything like that it's only for ILR not for extension. The home office website says we encourage you to apply one month before your current leave run out.

I am just asking if anyone have applied, I have my self applied for Early extension 9 months in advance and got it approved.

So i was checking if someone here might have applied 2 years before their leave have run out hence the thread.

Thanks for your comments.

Tipu

I don't understand why anybody would want to do that. You probably have 2 more years remaining on your current tier 1 visa, so what is the point of applying now, if you will get the same 2 years of extension???

Hi Thanks for the interest. They extend your visa not re-issue from current date to 2 years,

Also there could be reason someone might have e.g extending and going for 1-2 years abroad and come back later or 1 year in adv of their extention if they don't need or worry about ILR

It's just a thought and i wanted to check someone might have done it, I remember seeing a post somewhere I think in this forum where someone have extended 1.5 year in advance.

Applying in advance for visa extension

Post by Vedapon » Fri May 07, 2010 3:13 pm

Hello there!

On this matter of applying earlier than requested for an extension, please advise the required documentation to submit.

I would assume monthly payslips from the UK employer is mandatory. What else is required, in this regard?

Did you engage the services of a migration services agency?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Regards
Veronica

Yes, I know the case where visa was extended almost 2 years in advance but the applicant was covered by HSMP JR.

Hi Thanks,

I think HSMP JR does not have anything to add to support your early extension, I remember that HSMP visas were orignally handelled by Workpermit team and they are the one who always told that you should apply 28 days before your current leave to remain run out.

Thanks for the information.

JR does help early HSMP extension. Please read the JR policy guidance carefully and you will get the point!
