But you have contributed to the economy. You've paid full tution fees; you buy goods & services and pay bills; you hold a UK bank account ... all these items are taxed. Also most universities rely on foreign students tution fees to keep afloat. They certainly do in NZ. I think it's luck. Whatever unit your application gets assigned to, unfortunately it looks like ours got assigned to the busiest or ...erm... the slowest
