hi, my wife and I want to travel around France by car and maybe into the north of Spain (Barcelona maybe) at the end of February. I am British and my wife has a Pakistani Passport with 2 year marriage visa. What is the process for getting her a visa to cover France and Spain? I think I am right in saying I need to get a visa from the French embassy (we are going via channel tunnel). How long does it take to get the visa? As we are going by car and we are just going to travel wherever we want, we won't be booking any hotels....although I will have the booking for the channel tunnel. We may be booking a rented villa in Barcelona but may play it by ear as and when we get there. Will the lack of hotel bookings be a problem? What other documents do I need to provide? Thanks all for your help. Now I've just posted this and have found posts that seem to indicate that my wife doesn't need a visa if she is travelling with me....now I'm really confused....help!!

Formally, your wife needs to apply for a Schenge type C visa either at the embassy of the country where you stay longest or if this cannot be determined the country of first entry. Check their web pages for more information. The posts which say that she can travel without a visa probably also discuss this in all detail. No need to reiterate this here again.
