how long can I stay without affecting my ILR application

Post by poor_soul » Tue Jan 04, 2011 4:35 pm

I got my T1 G stamped on 17 Aug 2010. I landed in UK on 12 Sep (in 27 days ). I then came back to my home country on 15 Dec 2010. I am still in my home country. I want to know how long can I stay outside UK without affecting my ILR application later.

altogether you can't be away for more 180 days during your five-year staying in UK which started on 12 Sep 2010

Wrong!!

Per current rules of ILR, you shouldn't be out of UK for more than 450 days in 5 year preceeding ILR application. Also you shouldn't be out of UK for more than 90 days in 5th Year i.e. last year preceeding ILR apps.

Before ILR, you need to consider implications of being non-resident on your extention.

You are confusing ILR (settlement) with naturalisation.
