I wonder if proposed travel date has anything to do with the order in which they issue visas...my proposed travel date is 1-Jun, so even if say someone like you and your partner submit your papers after me, it would make sense to give you your visa before me, assuming your travel date to UK is also before me?

I doubt they put that much effort into prioritising applications. If you look at the December processing times, some people got their visas in 2 days, while most took 5+ days.

It's probably just a function of how efficient the entry clearance officer is and the complexity of your application.

I wouldn't worry yet. My partner is still waiting and we submitted our applications at the same time.

You know of course with a travel date so far in the future that they probably didn't post-date your visa?

Yeah, and I plan on asking them to post date it once I get my passport back..

I thought that was only if there was a mistake in the issue date of the visa (if you requested it to be post-dated).

I may not be successful, but my travel plans weren't delayed, because I never intended to travel until 1-JUN in the first place. But hey it's worth a shot.
