Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN)

Post by Palprithvi » Fri Apr 08, 2011 8:28 am

Hi, I got a traffic offence done by driving on to a restricted road which was caught on camera. I came to know about it when I recieved a letter of fixed penalty notice. The letter asked to identify driver, which I put my name as I was the driver. Two weeks letter I received another letter to pay 30 pound fine which I paid.

My questions:

Would it be shown in CRB (criminal record bureau)?
Would it be on Police National Computers?
I am going to apply for ILR in august, will this cause any trouble?
is it just one off payment and would not have recorded on any national database?

Hi,

This is not a criminal offence. As this is just a fixed penelty notice. This will not be shown on CRB and you do not need to disclose it to any authority as well.

The unspent criminal conviction that is mentioned as requirment for ILR means that, you have been arrested for ANY offence by police. Then you have been presented before a judge in court and over there the judge give you fine and any punishment will be considered as criminal conviction.

These type of convictions are considered as spent after a certain period of time as mentioned in the Rehabilitation act 1974. You can visit the website of NACRO for details.

Since you have NOT been given the fine and points by judge, so need not to worry about that.

Well I have the ruling from Home Office with me. I have advised you with the ruling in my hand.

In addition to this, I also have ruling from NACRO as well. If you are still not satisfied, then you can try it yourself or may be anyone else can helo you on this the other way.

However, I have written every thing with AUTHENTIC rulings in my hand....So don't worry about it.

Send me your email address and I will send you the copies to your attention. In case anyone else need the copies, send me the email, and I will send you the copy of the ruling by both Home Office and NACRO about Fixed penalty notice on driving licence.
